Girls Excel Mentoring (GEM) Clubs) are safe spaces created by Girls Excel in schools and communities in the rural and urban areas to train and build the capacity of girls as peer educators on Sexual and Reproductive Healths & Rights.
GEM Clubs are safe spaces created by Girls Excel in schools and communities in the rural and urban areas to train and build the capacity of girls as peer educators on Sexual and Reproductive Healths & Rights. These clubs addresses some of the key challenges that adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon experiences which limits their ability to access timely information and education. In these clubs, girls learn different issues ranging from comprehensive reproductive health rights, Gender Based Violence, peer pressure etc. We also train the girls to make their own reusable sanitary pads and menstrual bracelets.
