

MH Ambassadors
MH Ambassadors Project, Girls Excel trained 20 Menstrual Health Ambassadors from
10 regions in Cameroon on best practices of promoting and raising awareness on
menstrual hygiene management and sexual and reproductive health education.
The general objective of this project is to train 20 Menstrual Health Ambassadors from
10 regions in Cameroon on best practices of promoting and raising awareness on
menstrual hygiene management and sexual and reproductive health education. Our vision with this project was to build the capacity of different community workers from a variety of community based organisations working within the period equity, girls education, gender equality and women empower space in Cameroon. We believe one the innovative approach to period equity that Girls Excel continues to pioneer can only be sustainable if replicate in. larger scale.
Specifically this project aims to achieve the following:
1. Train 20 young people as Menstrual Health ambassadors (2 per region)
2. Establish girls-led clubs in all 10 regions of Cameroon to promote access to
reproductive health education to adolescent girls and young women in all regions
of Cameroon.
3. Create and work in partnership with 10 to 20 organizations representing the 10
regions of Cameroon.
4. Harmonize a girls-led club curriculum which would be used by all the
ambassadors once they are back in their communities. This curriculum would
also be available in English and French to facilitate usage.
5. Bring together different stakeholders and national machineries working on sexual
and reproductive health education in Cameroon to contribute to the discuss and
overall outcome of the project.
